Today at 2:00, Ben Clanton is going to be offering an Author Experience today at 2:00 pm! Please tune in and have some fun! I will be there! :)
One way to access it is type: Squiggles & Scribbles by Ben Clanton into your Facebook Page. If that doesn't work, copy and paste the link below! https://www.facebook.com/narwhalandjelly/photos/gm.1856341997834031/3155972447757932/?type=3 Well hello out there! I wish I could see all of you and teach your child in person. Please be sure to email me if you have any questions or concerns during this time apart. I am available to help any way I can! Your child's classroom teacher will be reaching out to you soon with more information. I wanted to offer a little guidance as well.
Math If your child comes to LRC for math, their Zearn level is set to the level they are currently working at in the LRC classroom. It would be absolutely wonderful if your student completed a lesson on Zearn each day! Writing A few fun ways we are practicing writing at our house: 1. Keeping Journals about this surreal experience. We share what we are doing to pass the time each day as well as our thoughts and feelings about this moment in history. 2. On St. Patrick's Day, we had a lot of fun writing silly Limericks! I downloaded a free handout on Teacher Pay Teachers to learn about the structure of the poem. After we giggled and each wrote a couple, we performed them and sent the video to our relatives! 3. Today we watched Ben Clanton on Facebook. He taught us how to draw the characters in his books and inspired us to create our own characters and stories! We are excited to watch him again on Friday, March 20 at 2:00! 4. I would love to be your child's email pen-pal! If your child sends me an email I will respond! Reading If you are in the primary grades, your child has a RAZ Kids account. This is a fantastic website with leveled readers and comprehension questions. Your child earns points for each learning activity and gets to use the points to create a character and home in the program. My kids love it! The best part is that their is a read aloud feature where your child can listen to a book read aloud to them while the text being read is highlighted! If your child is in the Intermediate grades, I am in the process of creating your child an account and will send you the login information. It would be wonderful for your child to read at least one story each day and answer the questions paired with the story. |
